Title: Holiday Weekend
Post by: FinsnFur on August 31, 2007, 10:05:39 AM
I'm off today through Monday. The big four day binge!

Sorry about this guys but you'll have to put up with me a little more the next few days

So used to getting up before the crack of Dawn, today I woke up to no alarm and wanted to mow the lawn  :doh2:
I'm currently building four websites, and got all those caught up this morning, if yours is one of them...now is the time to get me some more information, I'll most likely be working on those all weekend for ya's.

And while working on your site Jim will be drinking alot of cold beer and having flash backs of that pic of the sheep in fishnets..... :laugh2:

I'm leaving in 40 minutes to start my weekend of picking the pig and drinking while beating the older farts at horse shoes again this year. Man it is so fun watching them sit down as we yell NEXT....LOL

Everyone have a good weekend and a safe one to boot.

New Dog,

If you pass by the lower end of the state give me a call! We will have a beer of coffee, and you can pick up you HOWLER!

I just got off work on a 14 hr shift,(break down) and Looks like a very good chance I may end up back in there this eve and maybe the hole weekend off and on! So much for a holiday weekend, plus I haft to go in Monday night on midnights!

What time I do have some will be spent in the shop building howlers, shipping, packaging some new products and turning a few calls for the OSTC next weekend, returning phone calls and emails, taking pic's for the website, AH hell I am depressing myself!

I hope you all have  good weekend! Drink one for me!

So just leave a message after the beep. :laf:

Wow, sounds like lots of time off for everyone this weekend.  I just got the 64 T-Bird out of storage and have some cleaning to do on it since it will be going up for sale.      Then there are some posts in the fence around the yard that are starting to lean.  So I need to pull the fence and get the posts straight.  While they are off, we will probably replace the fence but that won't happen till next week.  Sounds like I will be working while the rest of you play.

Have fun,

Jerry

V.V.

You could work there for 12 hours, drive here in 3, work 6 hours here, and then sleep while you drive back home.  By doing this I will only have to work 6 hours each day and get 12 hours of work done.  Sounds like a plan.

The biggest thing about drinking this holiday weekend, especially since it's the last summer holiday and most people hit er pretty hard...is to remain in control. Limit yourself to one or two drinks and hour and get up and move around once in a while.

Know what your limit is, and instead of trying to exceed it, try to remain with in it.
Be aware of whats going on around you and do not put yourself or anyone else at risk.

:roflmao:  One good note about me workin the weekend, the other guys that hunt there only took 3 geese.  I was watching out the barn window and man were they sloppy as all heck.  I watched alot of bird flare  :thumb2:
Never seen so much movement out of a group of hunters, and one of them was attempting to film.   Maybe the huntin' gods were looking out for me and sent some ants in their layout blinds so I could get some meat in my freezer next week  :wo:

Nice pic's !!!   Yep, they feed in the pasture every morning then fly back to the swamp over the hill in the afternoon.  I have to work on my car tomorrow but Wed I'll be out, i dont have layout blinds so I'm going to attempt to decoy them near a row of pines that extends across the field.  I got 6 feeders, them converted turks lol, and a bunch of them rags to set up.  Plus I'm gonna add a few mallards and crows to make it look natural out there.

Actually, as I'm sure you know, that whole thing was staged. I had maybe four beers all weekend. Too much PC stuff to get caught up on.  :eyebrownod:

I didn't have as much fun as some of you, East TN is still hot and dry so I stayed home , worked on the "honey do" list, building points for when the weather breaks. Trout fishing in the Smokies is marginal with the low water levels, and too hot to be calling coyotes, but archery season starts the end of this month and there are a few places that I want to call before the deer hunters move in. I'm on the deck and there are a couple of yote sounding off right now, hope to be after them soon.

keep care

Well Jim, we spent our weekend at the pig pick-n. Friday we all arrived around 2:00 and fired the smoker up. Once it was up and going we prepped all the meat and got it in and started the w/e binge on Coors light. I do believe I hurt my liver this w/e....

Had around 200 guest this year and the perfect weather for it. And as thought , the younger guys sat the older ones down in horse shoes, it just wasn't me & the wife this year. It was the two friends and we made them drink a shot of shine for every ringer. After the 1st quart was gone, I believe they really got on their game :doh2: No-one set them down all afternoon.

And Sunday the wife saw her 1st yote. SHe had 100 questions and me thinks I can scam another gun out of this someway

Modified to add.....4 beers my arse!
