Got a call from my dad today on the cell while I was at work, left me a message that said stop by the house got something for ya! It usually means he got a good deal on some kind of power tool and picked me one up. But today I stopped by and my Little buddy Blane was there, My sisters boy. Two years old, My buddy for sure! My Uncle as there with his wife so we were just shooting the bull, when dad gets up and takes Blane and walks back in with a package covered with a white sheet.
He tells Blaine to open it for me and he wont...lol...So we go round and round with Blane!
Just a little back ground here, a couple months back my aunt started painting out of the blue, my dad was very interested and one thing lead to the other and he was painting!
After Blane decided to show us what was behind the sheet this is what was there...............

A personal painting by my dad!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You guys have no idea what this meant to me! I was beside my self! These kind of things you take to you grave and then leave to your kids! Something that can never be replaced over time or after he or I are gone!
I was at a loss for words!
Dad had asked me for a picture of a live Coyote about three months back. I gave him a picture that I took from the still camera on a trip we took to the family farm. This pic was took on a weekend trip we took scouting for Turkeys. The weather tuned bad and snowed, we were stuck in the camper for two days, knowing the birds would not gobble, I decided to get up and make a stand with the still camera ( no guns there ) so I took a few pictures when this Coyote came into the call. Right in front of the old fence on the old farm!
Sorry you guys haft to put up with me be all sentimental and all but this is just what life is all about! With all bad things that happen there is always light at the end of the tunnel!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This made my day!
Brent
Very special Brent, I envy your relationship with your Dad. You're a lucky man.
Very cool. :yoyo:
Just think of all those times when you were younger, and he was chewing your butt for something and all that went through your mind was how out of touch he was.
Aint to bad a guy once your all grown up, is he?

Brent,
I am sure you would have liked the picture just because of the content, but then to have your Dad paint it - that would make it SPECIAL. He did a very nice job on it and I have seen quite a few pictures that were done by people who have taken art classes that do not look that good.
Jerry
It does mean allot to me for sure, allot more than any kind of tool for sure!
Glad you guys can put up with me being all mushy and all but I had to share this with you guys.
Jd,
This is the first painting he done for me. But he has painted several in the past maybe 3-4 or so. This is the first one he has done with any animals in it.
Brent

I have a few of those frommy Step-Dad, he was big into Rabbit Hunting & Horses, so I have Paintings of Dogs & Horse, it isn't Coyotes or Deer, BUT they are still special and will be passed down to my Kids
That IS a Good looking Painting, and he NEVER had any experience before ? it is good
Bob
Ohiobob,
I think this is his 4-5 painting, something like that. My aunt started painting just out of the blue and when dad seen them he wanted to try. Mom got him some supplys for Christmas and he gave it a go. He hasnt had to classes or anything, just kind of winging it...lol
Brent
Brent
Well your Dad is VERY Good at "Winging" it, it was the same way with my Step-Dad, Hell we never even thought of him having any ARTISTIC Talent, but he showed us :laf:
Since my Brother Died, I get all the Paintings to pass down to my Kids, I kind of forgot about these Paintings until this thread
So thanks for bringing this up Brent, it put a Smile on a Smileless face in this house :congrats:
