I think the hummingbirds finally left Wisconsin. One of my feeders was as close to empty as I have seen it all year, yesterday after work. I haven't seen one since Monday. I think they fueled up and headed for the border.
Anybody seeing any in their area?
The great migration

I am glad to see they made it and are being well fed. I still amazes me how animals like humming birds and butterflies can fly the migration patterns that they do.

Most of ours depart after the monsoon which is occurring now.  We stop feeding after 1 Oct so that those who want to migrate will.  If any are still around after 15 Oct we will put out a feeder for those to damn lazy to fly into Mexico and beyond
When they come for mine they better bring theirs

How do you tell if you have any too damn lazy to fly into Mexico and beyond with the feeders down?

With the feeders down those who want to leave will.  Those who wish to stay will find another food source or leave within fifteen days.  Those that remain beyond the fifteen days will be again fed by us.
