I got friends at work that tourney fish, and ask me If I'll pre fish them...I decline..make myself busy. I had a friend ask my to be a sub for his two man team when his partner cant go. Not interested.
I know they arent ALL this way, but I cannot tolerate the ethics and arrogance of tournament boats when I'm out there. Living on a huge tourist attraction of a river..they are mostly assholes out for money and as fast as they can.
I know I dont own the river but I live here and this is my backyard and those are my neighbors in the little john boat fishing over there. SO when you roll up in here with your big fancy financed truck and trailer hauling a bass boat with 40 of your friends and disregard every rule of the waterway, endanger other boaters, and display plain utter rudeness just to line your wallet while your here...I get really pissed off. :argh:

I have a bit of a pact with the tourney guys at work, they know where I stand. We discuss the types of lures that are working at a specific time and the type of structure or foliage we find fish by but never use locations. :nono:
I got to agree Jim. Ibdont care for tournament's. Why would i want to take something i enjoy and relax and turn it into a job or the nerve wracking aspect of i have to catch fish.
Fishing for me is a release, a way to relax and get away from it all if only for a little bit.
I fished one tourney with a friend about 35yrs ago. No fun at all. Never did it again.
Assholes here too. I bank fish all the time,, no boat,, and the tourney pricks just haul ass thru the no wake zones. What really pisses me off is fish & game are on the lakes bothering boaters all the time on the weekend but their boats must be in the shop on tourney day!!

Oh but they bring money to the community. I personally think that letting tourists come in large numbers and wreak havoc with locals, tear up the water ways, and make people wish they didnt live here, a piss poor way to bring money to the community. :confused:
I agree. And one of the reasons for the No Wake zones is due to bank erosion from their wake. I guess it's ok to tear up the shore line for a few bucks. As for the money thing,, they all have their boats fueled & the coolers stocked before they ever get to the lake so all we get is their exhaust in the water. Our lakes aren't near any towns or cities so we don't see the money. At least ODNR gets the license fees. I agree 100% with your last statement too. Tis a shame.
