Hey Semp,
Its Billy Jack, I'm the one who lost a coyote pelt in the back of your truck at LBL :laf:

Hell yeah we're gettin ready for turkey. My hunting partner and I manage to obtain a lease in Carroll county for deer and turkey. We ran into turkey on the property while scouting, so we're pretty excited for the opener.

I get to take the young un this weekend on the youth hunt, we'll be headed to Clay WMA. There is a fair number of turkey there as well, but it gets really crowded during regular gun season. We hunted there last year and there always seemed to be other hunters trying to call the same bird !! I finally called in a big tom after over an hour and calling and three or four different setups. My hunting partner blew the set up, it was his frist turkey, and he didnt see it when it finallly showed up. I would of have a shot, but he was the only one with a gun ! (that wont happen again.)

Ive been practicing my calls at night after work. I cant wait. Its been cold lately, and I havent heard gobbling in the mornings yet by my house, it could be i'm leaving for work too early.

Good luck to you this turkey season, and I ll keep you posted on that lease, hopefully with a picture of a big un.

Our opener was this past Saturday and I managed to call in a gobbler for a buddy of mine.  10.25" beard, 7/8" and 1" spurs, 19.5 lbs.  Now it's my turn!  ;)

Yeah, that was pretty funny.  When I saw that pelt in the bed of my truck the next morning I thought "I bet alcohol was involved in this some how."  :eyebrownod:

Good luck to you and your young'un on the youth hunt.  Be sure to post some pics.  We LUVS pics here at FnF.   :laf:

I got drawn for the early LBL hunt April 12-13 so I am going to see if I can get a jump on our regular season here in Kentucky.
