It's not a Bear, Coyote, Skunk, Fox etc, because the nasal cavity comes out on top of the head. I've never seen anything like it.

Also the eyes sockets are SO close to the jaw joints it's amazing.

I'll go with american alligator, maybe A pet dumped dwarf caiman or such.  If all else fails it must be A rabid wombat.  ~KT

Well, I can't tell from the pics, but it does look like there are any teeth or root holes where teeth would have been. Plus no mammal or reptile that I know of has exposed nasal passages, so I'm guessing they really aren't nasal passages as in 'passages to get air to lungs, however a sinus cavity like that seems to point to something that is highly dependant on smell. While it has a crock shape, crocks nasal passages are not exposed.

All seems to point towards a pointie nosed fish, dependant on smell, and while having a significant skull mass, not having significant teeth..... Pointie nose bottom feeder of good size....... yup, my guess is sturgeon.

I'll have to ask him how close he was to the river. I know there's a pile of Sturgeon in the Wisconsin River.

Bout a mile from the river. That's pretty wild that something would drag it that far away especially considering it's size ey?

And there are no bears here to speak of.

Ya know Rick, you could prolly make A million filming that fish up the turkey trick.  With all the sick bastides's roaming the net with their wives credit cards you're sure to make A killin'.

Well heck, we already have coydogs, Zdonks, platypus, rabid wombats, and PM mods, so I don't think an interracial union between A sturgeon and A turkey is that far off.

Jim- thanks for not taking my name out of the hat in the drawing for that comment.  Or did that wonderfull little sweatheart beat ya to it?          :doh2:                                 ~KT

Did she ground you for that temper tantrum?

I believe A European mount is in order, ought to look good over the fireplace.  If anyone asks about it you just casually mention
"that's A piece of *$$ I got off A turkey"   then nonchalantly continue on with the previous conversation.
