I went out and made a set this week. I was hunting a big hay field with a small rise so if your sitting on the ground you can't see over to the other side unless your in our tripod deer stand. I decided to do my calling from there so I could get a good look all around the field.  I started out with some mouse squeaks, then I used my new rabbit distress from Bill's Custom Calls. Man, I really got into it today too. I would stop for some short pauses and start again. After about 30 minutes I gave two or three greeting howls, nothing. I waited a few more minutes and climbed down to retrieve the decoy. As soon as I made it to the decoy I heard yipping on the other side of the hill. Man I started looking all around for a quick place to hide. I ran over to a hay bail and got really still. I waited another 30 minutes after that and even tried yipping back but never saw anything. Maybe it winded me or even saw me.
But, this is the first time in over a year that I know for a fact that I called in a coyote. I may not have seen him or even got a shot but progress was made. Each time I go I feel like I am getting a little better at it. Thanks for everyones help and ideas.
Sorry no pics this time.

Sounds like you had a great day. I can't go anymore. Snow is too deep and I'm too lazy.
