Al,

The picture on the box looks like a XPS while the scope you are selling looks like a 512.

Hi Semp.  You could take what I know about these kinds of sights and put it in a small thimble, and it would still rattle around.  It is a 512 according to the info on the sticker, "512.A65". I can only assume that the pictures shown on the EOTech cardboard band are a generic wrapper so to speak, or maybe they got switched around at the store where it came from.   I got it as part of a package deal on a DPMS with a match grade barrel (Shillin), check spelling on that one, and a tactical mount and Burris scope.  I had it scanned at Bud's Gunworld and it sells for $465.00. It looks like a fine instrument but I would have no use for that kind of sight for coyote hunting.  For wild hogs and deer sized animals, I would think it to be superior.  Hell, some people would think it is superior for coyote hunting.  I'm a scope man myself, regular crosshairs with Ballistic Plex reticles. (lol)

Do you think I need to change my details on the listing?

Nope,  I was just noticing the difference in the two sights.   I am a fan of Eotech.  I have one of their XPS sights on a Rock River AR and really like it.  Target acquisition is very fast.  I think for thick cover short range coyote hunting it is ideal.

They are built for use in urban warfare by the military. That 512 is an excellent sight.

Thanks for your input, Semp.  I modified my post to include the model number to avoid any confusion.  I agree that it is a nice product, and believe I would like it a lot for wild hog hunting or any kind of bigger game animals, especially in the thick stuff. I listed it on this forum last night to give our guys first crack at it.

Hope you are well.  I am still having fits out of the allergy/sinusitis thing, and the state of dehydration is still bothering me with these antibiotics drying me out all the more.  I hunted sick every day that Snowcamoman was here, and the weather kind of screwed us up too, as it turned off too warm and sunny.  Still, 9 called in and 5 out of 5 killed by your guest ain't bad.  I know he left here quite happy, and that pleases me.  He is sure a super nice fellow.
