Title: "Staycation" day 1
Post by: Silencer on July 14, 2008, 10:39:21 AM
Gonna keep a daily log on my staycation, here's day 1 am.

Wanted to do some scouting for early goose season, found where we're gonna set up at the point of an island that has a back-wash pool.  Seen a small flock hanging out there.

Spotted a little buck, least I think I could see a flash of velvet but I had no bino's to verify and only a small zoom on the camera.

In the process of fishing, the kids were learning what the little white caps meant on the water, how to read the water going into a hole, and how to cross some rapids w/out falling in.

Didnt catch didly this afternoon, no bite going at all but...........

Finders keepers or leave it alone ?  No vin number on it whatsoever, had about 8 inches of water in it, I can see its leaking
around the rear rivits so I pulled it up outta there and placed it in the brush.
Might be too much of a junker to fix up, maybe thats why someone left her but yall know I wanna go pick it up
and work her into the new duck killin machine  :laf:
I had to back out on the deal I had for the v hull with trailer...  maybe I'll let it sit for a while and ask around before I snag it up.

Day 2 am

Cant get out this morning, wife got called to help the local sewing factory get caught up.  Cant rant too much about it, I did bullchit the manager a couple weeks ago at the bar to get her some hours for the summer.

This afternoon should be open.

Days 2 and 3 were a wash, glad my wife is making some money sewing.

Day 4
Dropped the misses off at work this morning and took the kids to the lake with me.  Again, nothing with any size to it, but the fun part was a couple guys cut us off and I told the kids we'll catch fish right behind them no problem, I could see they pulled in too tight to the cover spooking everything.  I let them get ahead a good ways and followed them up  :eyebrow:  A couple were legal keepers but I threw them back, getting lazy on this staycation

about that leaky boat if you dont hear something you can always get some of that spray on rhino liner stuff and spray inside and out to stop the leaks had a friend who did that with his john boat when it started leaking plus its gives youa textured surface kind of like non slip

you got it Lorddal, J-B Weld on the outside and Rhino liner on the inside.

My bro just got home from his work week, we're going down tomorrow afternoon to see if its still there and yank it out.

:roflmao: :laf:   Richard's going on the pay it forward forum, Think Alscalls needs it ...  :roflmao:

Heard today even if you dont have a motor on a boat, you still need it registered so I'm passing on pickin her up.

Guess its true after looking it up :

Boat registration fees are as follows:

$18 Unpowered boats
$26 Boats less than 16 feet
$39 Boats 16 feet to less than 20 feet
$52 Boats over 20 feet
Note: Boats with unpowered boat registrations may NOT be equipped with gasoline or electric motors or any other mechanical propulsion and be operated on Pennsylvania waterways
