My wife and I have our granddaughter Maddie here for a few days.  (For some of you who are new here, Maddie has been fighting cancer for the past two years and about a month ago had a clear scan for cancer.  She had the access port removed a couple of weeks ago and is really starting to become more active now that she is no longer on chemo.)  They live north of Muskegon and when they go to the store in Whitehall she sees people fishing and she has been telling her mom that she wants Grandpa Latta to take her fishing.  So, Monday morning we headed out to a friend's pond to catch a few sunfish.  She ended up catching 8 sunfish and 2 (small) largemouth bass.  Doesn't really matter how many she caught because she was having a ball, and so was I.

Her first fish of the day.

Checking out one of the bass.  And check out the special Barbie rod and reel that I have for the granddaughters.

The people that own the pond told me to put a worm on and throw it toward a "special" spot in the pond to see if I could catch one too.  The "special" spot worked and Maddie loved watching the tail slap my arms.
