video compression?

Saving music from disks?...I'm assuming you mean cd's. In which case you'll need a ripper.

If you have windows Media Player 11 and windows XP, you can use the Media Player for a ripper.

Put your CD in the rom, wait for windows to recognize it. Once it does it'll bring up several options asking you want you want to do with the disk you just put in.

Scroll down through them and one of them reads, "Rip media from cd using Media Player". Click on that...go get ya a beer, when ya come back she's done  :biggrin:

actually I figured it out. When I put my disk in, a window pops up askin me what I wanna do.

I use real player to convert and save my music as a .wav format and then it works.

I used to know how to do all this crap before but windows xp is a bit different.
