Saturday was the opening of the fall firearms turkey season in Kentucky. I was out early, and heard turkeys in the woods around sunrise, but never saw one. I did not hunt yesterday, but was in the blind again this morning an hour before sunrise. About sunrise the turkeys started waking up and calling to each other. A couple small groups of them came out of the woods about a hundred and fifty yards from me. I called at them for several minutes, but got no reaction. I kept calling and eventually a group of five headed my way. When they got a few yards from my decoys and one offered a clear shot, I let her have it. Two down, two to go.
They have a hard time resisting the decoys.

T/C Encore with Federal 3rd Degree turkey loads did the job.

It was a miserable, windy and drizzly day, but the blind was comfortable. That makes two turkeys and a deer from this blind this season.
