I don't have to worry about landing any fish that big. I only use ultra & micro light outfits. They be much funner. That is a nice kayak tho. The peddlers hands free option I do like. Certainly have to be careful in our shallow river here.

Glen, I don’t know about your river, but the Maumee and Auglaize both have so much sediment in them that you can’t see beyond 6 to 8 inches into the water.  When I was looking for canoes years back I said I needed a canoe that would go over the rocks. That started a firestorm of comments about how I should be looking for rocks and not be going over them.  I tried to explain that the water here is not like the rivers and streams in the mountains â€" namely clear.  I finally posted a picture before some of the ‘advisors’ realized what I was talking about.

Our river is clear. Rocks very visible. Being it's only clear when its shallow is or could be a problem with a peddler.

I do a lot of fishing with my ultralight spinning rod and reel too. And my 6 foot  2  weight fly rod, its so light I can barely feel the weight,  lots of fun on the native trout and panfish and I have whipped a few smallmouth bass into shape with it too.

The SanPedro River is the only river within a few hundred miles from us.  Most of the time I can walk across it without getting the soles of my shoes wet!  No kayak in my future.
When they come for mine they better bring theirs

You  need a good deep cold fast wide river like the Connecticut River to slow them illegals down from crossing if the current and cold don't get them the alligator Pike will🇺🇸👍

I watched a young guy & his gal float off in 2 kayaks the other afternoon on a couple acre reservoir. Hers was a pedaler & she had command of it at all times in the 10-15mph breezes. He had good control of his. I liked that hers was nearly hands free.

I watch some videos with The Predator before I bought my Coosa. I really liked those too.
