Has anybody tries this seat or know of anybody that has. I'm thinking this might help me set on a deer stand for more than 2-3 hours without all the pain in my lower back from the cold air. I've devised a system but it consists of carrying a wool blanket in with me & wrapping it around me from my armpits downto my waist. It's bulky & somewhat uncomfortable & definitely sucks when I get the urge to move.

Looks like a gimmick Glen. I'd think it'd keep your booty warm but thats about it.
And if your 12 foot up in a tree, that's not going to do much for your face and legs in a sub zero wind. :wink:

HaMer - I'd looked at these things also. I think my problem with it would be the battery life. Five hours here deer hunting don't cut it the way we hunt. If it's anything like the advertised MPG on vehicles these days you can expect about two thirds the advertised battery time. Batteries are expensive here. I guess the problem could be cured with a few sets of the rechargeable batteries? A hundred bucks would turn to an easy hundred fifty by the time you got the batteries probably. I was kinda waiting on the reviews to come in on it also. I know the seats in the truck sure feel good to ole' Arthur on those cold chilly mornings. :wo: :shrug: :wo:

Thanks for all the thoughts. I have my doubts about them too. Battery cost wouldn't be an issue as it comes with a rechargeable & the charger. Batery life on the other hand would be I suspect unless it can be turned off/on easily other than battery pack removal.

HaMeR as you know I kinda/sorta abhor the use of electronics in any of my outdoor pursuits. So my answer to your problem would be to get a seamstress to make you a shirt. If you make a sweat shirt type of thing and get her/him to make it long enough[can't find these at Walmart]. On the lower part and around your back have a sheep fleece[many materials can work here] attached. This way the blanket is always attached to you and isn't in the road.
I've been thinking along those lines Barry. And I've also thought about having pockets sewn in for those heat packs that CC mentioned. I'm gonna check out Nelson's link too.
Those big blinds would be nice if I wanted to hunt one place. But I have access to 8 ladder stands plus my climber on 150+ acres. :biggrin:

I have a vest with pockets sewn on the inside just at the kidney area. I use a hand warmer with solid fuel "charcoal sticks" and it works very well. Keeps my back nice and warm :biggrin:. If its really blowing cold I use two one on each side :eyebrow:. I like the charcoal warmers over the chemical packs cause theres nothing to throw away when your done. AND the vest is an added layer, pluss extra pockets in the front. Never put anything in them but they are there if I need them :huh:
