I don't know what he's eating, but he's come back more than once to get it. He's nocturnal too. MI VHNTR

Acorns off that oak tree in the background :eyebrownod:
Sadly, there are no Oak trees for miles. Spruce, Poplar, Pine, Birch, Tamarack, Alder, etc., but no Oak. The two ruts are from traffic to and from camp. I'll have to take a closer look to see what's there the next time I go to the camp. He's been on the cameras more than once, but always at night. MI VHNTR
Have you checked the ground over there where he keeps stopping? Maybe there's some kind of mineral coming up and he's scraping and licking it.
I went to camp today and checked the area out a bit closer. The deer appears to have been eating a bit of clover and other plants that are still green. There's no sign of anything else being there. MI VHNTR
Well, that would make sense. Now the big question....you got enough freezer space? :eyebrow:
Plenty of freezer space, if he'll cooperate. Every picture of this buck has been from 10 PM to the early hours of the morning. He's making rubs in a few places now. More than likely, he's doing that at night too. Hopefully, there'll be a little hussy in the area that tickles his fancy in the daylight. MI VHNTR
