Just like dad, had to shoot twice :innocentwhistle: First shot hit em in the nutz, second shot smoked em good in the heart-lungs. Nice sized male, the only one we'd seen in the oak holler near the swamp.

Proud of the boy !!! :yoyo:
Cool deal!! Congratulations young Silencer!! :highclap: :highclap:
I woulda thunk a shot to the nutz woulda killed that squirrel. Unless he hadn't gotten the nut off the branch & into his mouth yet. :laf: :laf:
Great Job young one :yoyo: :yoyo: :highclap: :congrats:
Forgot to mention the ticks were bad there. I've been out duck hunting right along w/out seeing any until today. Upper 60's and sunny might have something to do with it.
Thanks guys, we cleaned it together and he said it was like a science class, I showed em the heart, lungs, liver, etc etc etc.. Got it soaking in the fridge, then I'll marinate it in some special sauce and grill it up next week to eat.
Tell him congratulations. Squirrels are sometimes hard to bring down with a shotgun unless they are close or the shooter is lucky. I was usually neither so I started using the .22.
Jerry
Is that his first tree rat?
I cant think of a better way to start a youth hunting, then that. :yoyo:

Hi Im Devon. Im 8 years old. I shot my first squirrel. We were walking everywhere near the swamp. There were ticks everywhere. When we were leaving we saw a squirrel. The First shot i got it in the bad spot. The second shot was right at his head. I was just about to shot the third shot, but he fell. Thats how I shot my first squirrel.Thank you.
