Post by: timbertoes on October 29, 2009, 04:44:40 PM
Have been thinking about buying a Woodburning setup.... will cost several hundred  :wo:

Also want to get into some carving :)

My attempts with a regular dremel have not been to great...

Biggest problem is lack of artistic talent!!

anywho, just some things I have been thinking aboot.  :innocentwhistle:

What the heck kinda woodburner you looking at for several hundred?
I'm picturing a handheld iron with a tip on it like we used to use on the predrawn wooden pics in the kits.

Sky is the limit on setups now Jim. Thye come with reostats and interchangeabl tips.  Same for power carving and sharpening supplies. One sharpening rig I have seen can be built for about a hundred, the factory job is around 250. Jimmie

Yep all the fancy tips, burner is about $100.

I just used a simple $15 one to put some dots on a call.

Dots.     Yea,  that's about the limit of my ability.

Wish I lived next door to dave paul..
