Title: New hunting location
Post by: SCcoyotehunter on November 22, 2009, 06:29:46 PM
(http://i368.photobucket.com/albums/oo125/FastenalFishing/PiedmontDairyFarm-1.jpg)
This is a new place we are hunting. The yellow area is where the farmer told us to set up. However, the wind was all wrong and it did not work out. The purple dot is where the coyote was last seen eating afterbirth from a recent calf birth in broad daylight. The green area is a pile of manure where we got a response howling after dark there after the set. I am thinking of setting up next time somewhere around the red areas. Blue was wind direction the evening we hunted.
In the woodline behind the purple dot is a gully that runs the full length of that field, top to bottom, farmer say this is where they seem to den.
The plowed areas are not the farmers property but it probably will not matter, we are trying to get in touch with that land owner for permission.
Does anyone else want to chime in here with some ideas.
Thanks,
FF

He says its a gully, I have not visually seen it yet, but I picture a deep ravene all the way down to the funnel.

How many acres you have there and where do you park the truck? I see several places I would call but I won't walk all the way to the back just to get one stand, when I might push out a coyote closer to the truck.

The area between the two red circles is the Dairy Farm. I can park anywhere along that road or at the top of the yellow area is a good placeto park.

South , southeast winds and think funnels. Each one of those draws leading tthe main hollows is a potential calling sight. Jimmie
