That is a huge statement :huh:  And how can you possibly tell, with all the amazing pieces of art you've shown us I'd say it's a pretty (theres that word again) race.

Awesome job on that by the way.

Thanks for the comments guys! Jim I think its the material on this one, can't get the translucence of the ivory bead in the pic. That is some very interesting and nerve racking (cause I'm a cheap azz)  stuff to work with.  The hippo ivory with it's characteristic cracks, while I was cutting the bead I kept having thoughts of it catching and blowing up in my face! Then the way the Warthog tooth was hollow so far up... I took some pics of it.  Heck I even had to play dentist if you look at the ramp there's a bad spot in the ivory... this ain't a piece of antler that I can just pitch in the trash and grab another!  I glued (CA) and sanded about 20 coats until it was smooth! Then cut the air channel!  :laf:  Yeah I know patience grasshopper!

The ivory does have a different look to it and this is a fantastic call for sure. I'm 100% sure he'll love it, and well, if he don't......send him my address.  :biggrin:

Thanks feller's!  I've got 1 more to go now...actually just have to make another toneboard... smaller tusk though may be a challenge!

 :laf: I was talking about for the toneboard Todd!  The boar tusks are pretty easy to find...expensive as heck but they're out there.   :wink: Thanks timber... I kept some of the ivory shavings...  :eyebrow:
