They were pawing the snow back and eating the tender grass it was an interesting show

Those plants are called Yucca's
They look like a friend of mines "spanish daggers" a type of yucca plant.
Never seen Spanish Daggers That I know of
I don't know if they taste bad or not I have never eaten them,and the deer don't touch them either
Well a type of yucca called an agave is what is used to distille Tequilla. So yuck :puke: is in the eye of the beholder.
