QuoteSeems that the elk hunt and calling has caught up to this old guy. Can barely stand on my feet and a lot of times every thing goes numb. Heading up to the big city after Christmas for a few days of being probed, jabbed, photographed and whatever else the doctor deems appropriate.
Anyone heard how John is doing?
Nope, last I heard he was going for some test in the big city prior to the holidays.
John ya out there?
I started write the same topic yesterday Semp. Hope all is well John!
Good Luck John!! We're pulling for you!! :yoyo: :yoyo:
I can email him and ask him. I never knew he was the same johnP that I knew from another board.
Thanks for thinking about me. We got back from the big city (Phoenix) on 2 Jan. I need to start some exstensive therapy and have so many damn pills to take that I ended up dumping them down the drain. Bought an extra case of Bud and some more of that TN water and the pain is no more! I tried to get out and do some calling but just can't seem to walk any distance from the road. As a matter of fact I went out this morning, made two stands and called it quits. On the last stand I had one coming in but I just couldn't move to get on him. When I finally shifted my ass to get in line he picked up the movement and took off. Doc said that I'll never be back to 100% but probably 50% maybe a bit less. He also said that If'n I want he would provide necessary paperwork for a handicap sticker for the truck and support my claim to Fish and Game to hunt from a vehicle. Doubt that I would ever do that, but I sure as hell going to get that sticker for parking. I'm still going to make an effort to get out, just probably not as often and not as long. You can bet your last dollar I'm putting in for elk again this year, 17 bonus points and I ain't gonna let them go to waste.
John, it's good to see you back home (your place and here). I wish the prognosis could have been alittle more positive for you. But heck, you've been through alot worse. You'll work things out. As you've proven to us repeatedly, it's about calling the critters to you. Meanwhile, keep staying positive! You got a lot of friends here praying, and rooting for you. Yeah, I don't see you letting that elk hunt slip away. We'll be looking forward to the photos as always.
Dave
Welcome back John. I wish things would have turned better as well. Hang in there buddy!! :yoyo:
Ahhhhh, there he is :congrats:
Good to hear your back home John. Hopefully you'll bounce back despite the docs claims and be right back at er.
But I think you should go for both permits the doc is suggesting. Hunting from the truck would at least give you the chance to be out there doing what you love if it came down to it.
Glad to see ya made it back from the docs alive, John. That's always dicey. :laf: Get both of those permits and keep after the critters. :readthis:
Glad you came on back John. If you can't tell we missed you . Get the permits John cause we both know you can call 'em to the truck.
Welcome back, John
Good to see you are back home. :highclap:
Get the hunting permit, we want to see pics of your future hunts, just take it easy when you get out.
John,
Glad to see you back and sorry to hear the news. Get the sticker and hunting permit, camo the truck, and go hunting.
Jerry
Glad yer back JohnP
Dang John, my apologies. I didn't even know you were sick. I am so sorry my friend, but I sure am glad to see you kicking around the boards and the fields again. :highclap:
Like the others said, get the stickers you are entitled to and get after those critters. Sometimes we just have to change tactics according to different situations.
Glad to see ya made it through the holidays John.
I dislike doctors cause every time I see them they tell me I'm getting older and its expected. :doh2: But, I like your self medication plan.
You be safe out there and remember ya can't out run the wife.
