Just wondering if any of you guys or gals saw the report on CNN about the black labrador found with an arrow stuck in his shoulder? For my input, I'd love to find the character who took target practice on this beautiful dog, and stick a broadhead up his ass sideways. Deer hunters are some of the most ignorant a$$wipes in the woods. It's not the dogs fault it was out doing what dogs do. I hope the sumbitch has one of his own pets arrowed. :yoyo: :yoyo:
At one time Ky laws stated that all dogs seen running deer on thier own were to be shot on sight. There are still some that follow this old law that was repealed several years back. This was to protect teh deer herd while it was still growing. In some areas of the state this is still needed in my opinion. If it was after my livestock it would have been treated the same way. You can get all kind of ticked off if you want , but this would happen even if it was my own animal. Jimmie

The story gives me no indication of what happened other than it was shot with an arrow. :wo: hard for me to come to a negative or positive conclusion based on limited info.
My first reaction when seeing a beautiful dog injured is compassion and anger at the assailant but like I have stated what were the circumstances involved in the shooting?
Any dog running loose on its own is fair game.if the dog is with the owner and gets shot that is totally a different story.
I have seen dogs become wild from running loose and they will gather up other dogs and then become a pack,now there is a problem
My Black Lab is tied and if she get loose her chain is fixed ASAP.
If I see any dog chasing deer or livestock it is a dead dog
I got access to some land to hunt and the only way I got it, was the owner told me there is a dog running loose up on the hill,and wanted to know if I had a problem shooting the dog if I see it,well I still have permission to hunt the land,no I didn't shoot the dog,because I didn't see it

got to agree. Dont have enough info to come to a conclusion on this end. But Yeah if I see a dog running deer or livestock and the animal has no collar it is most likely gona be a dead dog. If the land owners let me know whats going on with dogs and suchh then I abide by ther wishes.

I lost a German Shepherd two years ago that I had about $5000 in, and the dog was on my land and killed by a tresspassing hunter on my property line. He was my best friend and was always kept inside except to go out for a potty break. He made his morning trip around our lake and never made it back home,I went after the SOB and its probably good I didnt catch him because I would have shot him.... I went to the Sherrif and he told me that he couldn't do anything unless the dog had been a hunting dog. Long story short, if you kill my dog on my land chasing deer or not I will hunt you! :argh: I have had many deer run past me over the years that were being chased by dogs and the way I see it is that I wouldn't have ever seen the deer if the dog wasn't chasing it, I have killed several deer that have been jumped by dogs and have yet to see a dog catch a deer.
Dogs without collars get shot on my farm. If they have a collar they get a pass.
Yeah if I see a dog with a collar he's good. If I see one that I know had a collar and its gone.. The neighbors get a call as to that fact got a St.Bernard that walks around here and hes missing his collar. The owners know and I havent seen him lately, :shrug:
