i took alexys in to the specialist today and found out she has to have surgery.we shceduled it for Monday. she has to have her adnoids removed, tubes put in her ears and the cyst taken out above her ear on the outside.
please pray for her.im pretty nervous because she will have to get general anesthesia and that worries me.
please pray for her. id appreciate it alot.
shes having the surgery at Camden Clark Hospital in Parkersburg because they dont do the type of suregery she needs here in Ripley.
I'm sure she will come through this a lot easier than you, but i will keep her and you in my thoughts Cathryn.

These are very common practices, I've had two of my three go through at it and for such a simple process, it sure mkes their lives a whole lot easier.
same as what Jim said, my oldest went through it he's logged on here as Duban, no more ear infections,.. etc etc
Will send some prayers your way for the both of you, I remember being a nervous wreck, the boy had more courage than me !!

Yep, prayers will be there for both of you. It is always a concern when a child goes into the hospital, but this should really help her.

We'll be praying for the little one. My son had his tonsils and adnoids taken out when he was 3 and he doesn't even remember it. He did great!! His momma and I were the ones falling apart though. I surely know what you are going through.
I had my adnoids, tonsils, and tubes put in about 36 years ago. It was a little different then, but as a parent I do know what you are going through.

Cathryn I'm late as usual but your daughter is my thoughts most days and will be for the operation for sure. She'll come through just fine and I'm worried about you :readthis:. Make some popcorn and sit with her just to read a book and let your mind be free for a bit :wink:.

We'll keep your little one in our prayers. Like several of the others, my daughter went through a simular procedure. It made a world of difference in her health. So take comfort in the fact that you are doing the right thing. She'll be just fine.

Two of our four kids went through the same operation with no problem at all, I'm sure your baby will also. I also know it's impossible not to worry about it. We will keep her and you in our thoughts and prayers.

sorry i didnt update you sooner but i wasnt abel too.
they ended up keeping alexys last nigth as a precaution due t some bleeding and the distance we are from the hospital.
she ended up with 13 stitches on the outside of her ear where they removed the cyst,, tubes and her adnoids removed.
she was pretty down last night but has perked up real good. we just got home maybe 30 minutes ago. i had to stop at the pharmacy and get her pain medicine in case she needs it.
i was worried but than God everything turned out ok.
thanks guys for remebering her in your prayers, and me too. it means alot to us.
We will still be praying for her to have a speedy recovery!

shes off till monday from school and she can rest as easy there as she can here.

the doc said a no go an going back to school as of yet.
he didnt like the way its healing(still oozing infection) so he wouldnt take the stitches out because he was afraid the whole incision would open up if he did.
so i got to take her back to P-Burg tomorrow afternoon to have em look at it again.

just wanted to update her condition.
i took her in monday and had to take her back Tuesday. they did remove her stitches but there is still some infection where they took the cyst off her outer ear.
the doctor said its a staff infection.
they gave her more antibiotic and i have to have her in there tomorrow at 9:40.
they wouldnt release her for school cause apparently its real contagious.
Tomorrow they will decide what to do.
Doc said theres a strong possibility he may have to go in and reopen her ear and take out more tissue.
please pray for her that this sint necessary. shes been through enough.

they released he to go back to school yesterday but she didn't till today cause the bus didn't run up the holler and the road was too bad for me to get em out.
she has to go back to the Dr Thursday because they ddnt get everything when they took the cyst out and its still draining same as it did before the surgery, only more now. they may have to go back in and do some additional surgery.
i have a question for you.... after they initially told me shed have to go to Columbus or morgantown then deciding to do it themselves and it not working, do you think i should let the same Doc reopen her ear or have them refer me to someone in Columbus or morgantown.
i kinda feel like ya had your chance and screwed it up and i want someone to fix it that knows what they're doing.

I agree with Mike..........Get her outta here.....I was just in the hospital here and I aint sure whats going on but they forgot to feed me 4 meals in a row........so I checked me out!
They are idiots here and I think you should get another opinion and sooner is better.

ive decided that if he says she needs it reopend that im gonna tell him i want a 2nd opinion. hes not cutting on her again. i honestly didnt like him from the minute i saw him.
a gut feeling and even less after he spoke.
i should have never let him cut on here ear.

well i woke up pissed about he whole situation yesterday so when i went to the docs i had an attitude.
i told them to tell him he want gonna be rough with her and having her screaming like ha had been and that he wasn't cutting on her again cause he had his chance and screwed it up.
well when he comes in hes got a whole different attitude..trying to be Sweet and slick at the same time.
says that the problem with the cysts were that even if removed they come back.
i asked him what was the point in doing surgery than and he had no answer. he wanted me to let him lance it in the office and i told him know. if anyone was gonna be cutting on her again it wasn't gonna be him.
he then prescribes me a medicine and says to bring her back up Monday morning for the lancing...like he didn't hear a word i said.
when he went to check her ear he wasn't near as rough as he had been either. i was waiting cause if he had been he was gonna get it with both barrels.
ended up that he says its infected now after telling me it wasn't the last trip up and its the same thing now as then.
I'm taking her to her pediatrician Wednesday and we'll go from there.
he did a good job on the ear tubes and adenoids but didn't do a damn thing for the cyst except make it worse.
he will not be cutting on her again,ever.
i will take her to a Dr to get it resolved but it wont be to him.
GOOD!
Now if you take her to another doctor & he says the same thing then you'll know it's the nature of the beast.
