Jim, or anybody else get hit with this ice storm? Holy cow. :rolleye: We got nailed pretty bad. We've been without power since about 9:30 this mornin, and depending on where ya live, we could be without power for awhile. There's only a couple small areas in the whole town that have power. A ton of trees and powerlines down. I was outside talkin to my neighbor a couple hours ago, and in the ten minutes we were standin there, there were atleast a half a dozen different big limbs and trees bustin and crashin down around us. There was about a ten mile stretch north of town on Hiway 71 where there were around 20 poles snapped off and lines layin everywhere. This one's a pretty big mess ! Gonna take abit to clean this one up. Just curious if anybody else got it, or is supposed to get it.
Hope it stays away from the LBL
Looks like it smacked you guys and went right under me at the same time Scott.
They closed the schools at noon and got all prepared and then nothing happened.
And I'm not complaining.
If ya need a place to stay, bring your camo and your rifle.. I'm off until Monday.
IAnhntr, I feel for you as I went through 36 or so hours of this last year. And at least ten days without power . We had a wood stove and could cook and keep warm. Stay in and stay safe.Keep your chainsaw handy just in case ya have to cut your way out of ht ehouse :eyebrownod: Jimmie
Hope everybody gets power back soon Scott!! :yoyo: :yoyo: The rain we're supposed to have is coming with mid 40's. Our problem will be run off from the frozen ground flooding the streams & possibly causing flash floods further down the line.
Scott I'm hoping you are fine. Always amazes me how a gentle rain can turn so destructive with just the addition of temperature. :puke:
I hope you get power back soon. It sure hits home what we take for granted. Like Jimmie, I went almost 7 days without power last year. Not fun at all.
Stay safe Scott and don't do anything foolish - like standing out in the drive way BS with the neighbor! We are getting hit out here also, although not nearly as bad as you guys are. Rain for the last two day, which we need badly, and high winds, which we don't need. Plenty of snow in the high country which is also good.
QuoteThe rain we're supposed to have is coming with mid 40's
Same here if I heard em right on the news.
Stay safe, ice storms are terrible.
We didn't get hit with any ice but the eastern part of the state is going to. Our company has already asked for linemen to volunteer to pack up and head over.
rain and 40* here got a little wind with it to. Not much but enough that you guys dont want it
Here on the Denver side of the Rockies we dodged the bullet. The front seems to part going around us and is reconverging farther east. It's not over yet, either. CA is still getting slammed, so don't put the chainsaw away just yet. I hope y'all make it thru this without too much trouble.
Thanks for the offer Jim :laf: and Thank You all for the well wishes, I appreciate it.
Glad nobody else got pounded by this. Our power was off yesterday from about 9:30 a.m.
to about 9:30 p.m. It stayed on until about 7:30 this mornin, then was out again until
about noon. We've had it now since. That is just our house/our neighborhood, there
are many places that don't have power, some out in the country probably won't have it back
for several days. There are many poles and lines down out in the country. Now it sounds like
more rain is comin, but worse yet in the next couple days the wind's supposed to pick up
with gusts up to like 30 mph. I'll try and get a few pics up sometime.
My wife just called from work and they said on the radio they were gonna kill the power
to the whole town at 8:00 for at least a couple hours for some reason. I better get off and maybe
hop back on my lttle work 3G notebook.
edit- well now they said on the radio that only parts of the town will be effected, so
I guess we'll see.
Heard you got hit bad down that way. Really been a miserable winter so far huh? Hope you get your jiuce back soon.
