Title: Ruined kid
Post by: msmith on January 23, 2010, 11:14:18 PM
I just installed a D-Link router. I just went upstairs and the BigDawg is laying in bed Facebooking with his PSP.  :doh2: May have to block access after 9:00 PM on school nights.

:laf: Yeah my neighbors got their kids one of them for Christmas not realizing it's capabilities. The kids were online doing all kinds of crap.

Sounds to me like you dont have any encryption on your Wifi signal, which means the neighbors can use it too.
Use WPA or WPE-PSK and then dont tell the kids the password.

We are using wpa but gave him the password. The kids are the reason for the router. He likes to peruse the forum some and check out sports scores and what not and that is fine. I just need to make sure he doesn't take the psp to his room. Now that he can connect it to then internet, it needs to be used with supervision just like the computer.
