Friday night was supposedly the biggest full moon of the year. What do you guys think about it's affect on coyote hunting. I was out that night for about 4 hours. We heard coyotes across the river, but no response near us?? Is the full moon a good time to hunt?? Why or why not??
Jim
I say it is.
Here's some more info why

although I consider myself still a learner and beginner at coyote hunting. I always felt hunting and fishing was always better during a new moon period. However, If your out there, they are too, no matter what the game.
If you are hunting at night, a full moon is good. If hunting in the daylight hours, I like a new moon best.
When you get this all figured out let me know.
Thanks guys! Now I'm really confused???
Jim
No need to be confused Jim. If you have the time to go hunting - go! The heck with the moon phase.
That's exactly what I do. I was just wondering. Some hunters I know feel the moon phases have a lot to do with coyote activity. I was just wondering what all you guys thougt!
Jim
I feel certain moon phases and weather events does effect animal movement but so does hunger and coyotes are nearly always hungry. Based on the hunger factor I hunt when ever I can.
Nothing scientific here, just my thoughts.
Chet
I think weather affects them far more than moon phase. Its the only thing I know that can cause drastic changes in their habits. JImmie
