Title: Micro Four-Thirds...... thoughts...
Post by: FOsteology on February 05, 2010, 12:39:13 PM
What's the consensus on the micro 4/3 (M43/MFT)cameras?

The Panasonic Lumix DMC-GF1 and Olympus E-P2 Pen caught my eye and attention. Especially with the 20mm f/1.7 pancake lens! In fact.... I have the GF1 in route.

I've been searching for a compact camera that I can take on trips where photography isn't the primary objective, without losing the 3 most important features of a D-SLR; shallow DOF control, precise selection of focus points, and usable higher ISO.

These new M43's seem to deliver near-D-SLR image quality... just seem to be the ideal kit for vacation, and traveling where weight and size are important.

Anyone here have some hands on experience with a M43? If so, please chime in, as your input would be greatly appreciated!

I can't help a bit on this one.  I did just get an 17-85 for the SLR though.  I like it so far but haven't run many shots yet.
