Title: How heavy is too heavy?
Post by: Bob D on January 14, 2007, 07:55:00 PM
Any of you using a VLS or any of the heavy varmit rifles ? I have a VLS Remington in 243 Winchester that I've used a couple of times this year while calling coyotes. It shoots great with no recoil but that sucka is heavy and hard to swing around for me.  Anybody had this type experience?

Do you know what contour the barrel has? Or at least what the muzzle diameter is on it?

And one more thing ... is the barrel fluted?

I toted around my heavy barrelled varmint rigs for awhile. Hard to handle without a bipod (more weight) and too high powered of scopes.  Now I carry a little Remmy model seven SS with a 3x9.   Like it a lot better.
