Since the weather has broke and we are in between snow storms I figured on a short walk with the rifle and a few calls on Sunday. With the snow 2 feet deep average and deeper in some spots,I decided to do a stand not far from the house, the only thing I seen were the 2 deer I bumped while walking to the stand. While I was out and about I did notice that in the deer paths I cam across there were dog tracks using the deer paths as a travel route,so if I can get enough energy and do some more walking I may have to find a deer trail to set up on and try calling in a coyote
:eyebrownod: That would work Willy
Bill,
That is a good idea, but I have found if I go where there is no game I have less to do. I don't have to shoot. I can move and not scare anything. I don't have to carry more than one round of ammo. I don't have to carry the kill. I don't have to clean. It is just much easier.
Jerry
I have to agree, but how fun is that
I thought you had to carry all kind of extra things gun,a box of ammo field glasses an easy chair shooting stix
a spotting scope 3 lanyards full of calls a lunch and a thermos of coffee just to enjoy the woods :laf:
go after them Bill :yoyo:
As My BIL said on our last hunt......I had just told him after getting out of the truck.....I hope this is gonna be worth it....
My BIL..........." It already is" :eyebrownod:
So get out there and take yer camera for when you get bored..........
I tell ya what, I never leave home w/out my lipton green tea and snacks. Sure, they pick on me but my stomach's never rumblin' !!!! Snow's perty deep here in places as well, set-up on a snowmobile trail the other day, was loaded with deer & dog tracks, seen the deer but not the dogs.
Good Luck Bill!! It's been rough on the wildlife here the last couple weeks so be ready for anything!! Sounds like a great time to be out & trying!! :yoyo: :yoyo:
