Our five year old grandson preparing to be tested for his yellow belt (karate). Needless to say all six judges had high praise for him and he was awarded his Yellow Belt, takes after his Granddad.

Tell him congratulations and to keep working on his katas.
So you were in Karate or you have a yellow belt? :innocentwhistle: Personally I have a quite a few black belts, a brown, a couple of camo, and yes, a yellow from Karate.
Jerry
Bragging or not that is quite a feat for the youngster :yoyo: Feel proud you deserve too.
Yep, I think Karate at a young age is very good discipline for kid.

Purdy cool John!! Tell the young fella Congratulations & that we're proud of him too. :yoyo: :yoyo:
I think it's great, especially for youngsters, in many ways.

I think martial arts are great for anyone and especially for children. It adds to their self confidence and discipline. Congratulations to your grandson, John.
A Job well done. You have a reason to be proud :congrats: :congrats:
Right on...congratulations to both of you!! I have thought about getting my son into Tae-Kwan-Do to get him a little exercise. I should probably go back myself too. I gave it up when I made it to red belt due to twisting an ankle. I really should go back and get the black belt someday. I could use the discipline again :iroll:
"So you were in Karate or you have a yellow belt?" Neither, I have a 2nd Degree Black Belt in Taekwondo(Okinawa), which is the discipline he wanted to study but we couldn't find a local dojo or sensei within 180 miles.
congrats to the young man :yoyo: :congrats:
:yoyo: Congrats!!! :yoyo:

Now I know why you have back and leg pain. You didn't get the 2nd Degree Black Belt by reading books. There was LOTS of contact.
Jerry
Congrats to both of you. :highclap: :highclap: :highclap:
Grandson spent the night here and just got done reading all your replies. He said to tell you all thanks and that I have good friends. He also said that when he gets his black belt he doesn't want a new one, he wants grandpa's.
How cool would that be??!! :yoyo: :yoyo:
