Title: Spring is in the air
Post by: JohnP on March 15, 2010, 01:56:13 PM
Cactus are starting to bloom, trees are budding out, dove are sitting on eggs.  Our birds from up north and further south are coming back to the desert southwest.  A beautiful time of the year.

I'll second what HaMer said ... that is a neat picture Mr John. It's 63 here with blue skies for a change! Now if that wind will just lay down some ...  :wo:

It is a great picture, but what really amazes me more is how a bird can land on a branch covered in thorns and not get stuck by any of them.  I know it is great protection for them, but look at the thorns and the bird sitting there in the middle of them.

Jerry - I'll try to get a picture of a cactus wren bulding her nest in the cactus, also a javelina "eating" a prickly pear pad covered in thorns.
