Title: Out Back
Post by: Bills Custom Calls on April 28, 2010, 07:54:11 PM
This evening after supper we were sitting around watching the news and I got up to get my after supper cup of coffee when I looked out back of the house and there stands a deer about 20 yards from the door I just stopped in my tracks and started looking a little more and discovered there were 3 deer there,it is the doe and set of twins we have been watching since last summer and it has been that long since they have been that close to the house.
The yearling just stood there stomping his foot and looked as though he was gonna charge me through the door
as I stand there watching the twins turns out both are bucks and have a very nice start on their racks.
The doe didn't pay me any mind she stayed about 50 yards out and when the twins turned and ran she just stood there and didn't even move the twins ran into the woods for a spell then came back out and they went on their way.

I do love living in the country

I can relate bill.  Thats pretty cool.  I normally have deer and turkeys all around the house.  I had a red fox that hung around all fall till he met his maker.  Now i am wishing he was still around.  He was neat to screw around with in the afternoons.

Al, Ben need pictures to back up your story.  This backyard picture was taken many years ago, grand daughter is now a young teenager.

All them does are no more than 15 yards away.

Nope every time I moved just a little bit this one buck would get all hyper and stomp his foot more often and I was more interested in watching him then going for the camera

Ben we had a fox here last fall also but he came up missing after season came in no I didn't shoot him but haven't seen him since the first part of Nov

John I do have pics of wildlife in the back yard just none of the recent event

Jerry I have put a few deer in the freezer and only one year 3 fell down do to things I have done  :laf:

I am not sure but probably haven't shot more then a dozen deer since I started hunting them 30 years ago,and all but one was right here on the family farm

I hunt deer every year just every once and while I get lucky  :eyebrownod:
