Fished a couple of hours this evening. We caught fourteen fish, including four between 12 and 13 inches. Then about 7:30 this guy took an 8 inch curly tailed worm:
Five and three quarter pounds and a bit over 22 inches.

Nice fish Pat. I don't read to many of these fishing post, makes me kinda jealous as I really enjoy fishing and there is not much of it around where I live. Tell the wife congratulations, that's the biggest red ear I have ever seen.
Pat,
Nice pictures and even nicer fish. What is even better is that you get your wife to go out with you. Looks like a nice place to spend a little time.

Tell the wife congratulations, that's the biggest red ear I have ever seen.
Kentucky has a Trophy fish program where the Department will send a certificate for fish over a certain size. Sunfish and bluegill qualify at 10 inches. That red ear made it easily. She also caught a bluegill the same day that was a little over nine inches. Just missed qualifying two fish in one day.

She loves to fish. I gave her that old canoe for Mother's Day last year and we have spent many hours in it. She's got a bladder about the size of a peanut and can't ride in the car for more than a couple of hours. But somehow she can fish for six or seven hours straight and never complain. And I won't either!
