Black flies that is...they were ferocious....and the Conn. River smallies were biting hard too:

The black flies were so bad hunting n fishing that aside from bug spray...we were wearing head nets and using camo duct tape to tape our sleeve cuff to the cuff of our gloves and also our pant legs to our sox...but Ill tell you...for about 1-2 $ no outdoorsman should be without those head nest they are great at keeping the biting bugs away from your head...and best of all for this hunt/fish trip, nary a tick on me :wink:
