Title: A good morning on the lake
Post by: cb223 on May 28, 2010, 01:54:27 PM
We started off in the shallows using slip bobbers looking for gill's, it didn't really pan out. So we moved a bit deeper 12-15 ft range looking for walleye drifting with a crawler harness. We both caught a couple of catfish, fun but not the table fare we were looking for. The wind carried us over a 5 ft. flat. As soon as I noticed it was that shallow I suggested we move. Just about as soon as the words were out of my mouth I caught a nice gill. Well needless to say we stayed on that line and ended up with 29 keepers.  what an awesome morning. They were hitting so good I caught 7 or 8 on a little crawdad crank bait that I just let sit out and drift with us. We didn't catch a limit but we ended up with a nice meal.

Any fish on the grill tastes a little different & it's all good. I especially like grilled crappie.
