Title: Lawn mower lawsuit
Post by: KySongDog on June 01, 2010, 08:04:33 PM
A friend sent me this so I thought I'd give a heads up to everyone on FnF.

A class action lawsuit has been filed against several lawn mower manufacturers concerning false and/or misleading claims of performance.

If you bought a lawn mower from any of the listed manufacturers between January 1, 1994 and April 12, 2010 you are eligible for a cash payment and extended warranty.

Go to this link for more information if you are interested in pursuing a claim.  You can file your claim online.

I filed a claim on my Honda push mower.  If I get $35 bucks back it was worth the few minutes it took to file.    :eyebrow:

The neighbor bought a rider here a year or two ago and the head split open on it.
He went down to the local small engine shop and that guy had two more exactly like it setting there with a split head.  :alscalls:

Mine is on the list but I haven't had a problem with it in the four years I have had it. Unless you can count trying to drive it uphill with a load in the bagger system  Jimmie

You don't have to have a problem with the mower, Jimmy.  You get $35 just for filing a claim.

My Honda has run like a top since I bought it.

Well, I received a check for $10.19 in the mail today.   It wasn't the $35 I expected but they said "a substantial number of claims" were received and they had to pro-rate the settlement to a lower amount.

Still, it was worth a minute or two of time to file.   Now I can buy 2 1/2 gallons of gas for my mower.    :yahoo:
