I picked this little gem of a block up when I had the honor of accompanying Coulter to the wood store a while back. I had a good day just talking to Steve about a lot of things & picking thru the massive quantities of wood that we seen. Diane asked me to pick up a piece of wood to make her a plate for work. So I did. I picked up a 10"x10"x2" chunk of Amboyna Burl. I took all the wax off & let it set for about 2 months & decided today was the day. Man was it a scary feeling watching the wood on a $48 blank disappear little by little!! But I get it done. This is only my 3rd plate & I still have a bunch to learn about turning them. But I did get a little detail around the rim.
