I book a vacation like the one I did on Saturday. A week on one of these.

Then today this news comes out. :puke:

Scary. Stupidity on the water. I bet alcohol was involved. Not profiling mind you. But you would have to have your mind limited to try to run a speed boat at much more than an idle in those conditions.
Barry I am glad you made it home safe off the water.
Due to tiredness and a little bit of inebriation I had misunderstood
Don't worry barry, inexperienced drivers is all, have fun on your trip! :D
Barry,
I wouldn't worry too much about it. I am pretty sure that Canada celebrates fireworks like they do around here - many more boats than usual and many have been drinking more than water. I have never done a houseboat vacation but have several friends that have and they have had a ball. So go and have a good time.

Actually I'm more worried about planes than other boats where we are going :innocentwhistle:. Last time up by this lake we had lunch on the shore and watched some 10+ planes takeoff and/or land there. It is fairly remote and air traffic is an essential to keep the community viable. I'm planning on a good time even it maims the wife :innocentwhistle:.
W/ a fear of collisions I take it you're walking there? :shrug:
I mean we do kill more people in vehicle accidents than we do in wars. ;yes;

Let's remember here VV that I met more people on the highway in 20 minutes through Wisconsin to Kentucky than I'll meet in a year up here. I'm off on a six hour drive one way today and I'll be happy to say I won't meet or be passed by more than 50 vehicles. FnTraffic :argh:
Have a great Vacation Barry. :yoyo:You'll be OK. :fingerx:

Why even build a road if it doesn't get any more traffic than that? :confused:
Do you believe you'll have more traffic on the lake than on the road? :shrug:

The road is an access to the Northern mines and isolated communities. Last time up past this lake and town when we went to Davin, we met like 7 in six hours. One was upside down :doh2:

I would suspect so. :shrug: A lot of sprayer operators are catching up on work :wink:.
Several years back we spent a week on lake Powell in a house boat. Four couples, two of the guys brought along their bass boats. We found a nice cove, anchored the house boat and explored and fished using the bass boats. No phones, no TV, no radio, no computer great vacation.
