I posted last month about going to Kentucky for a coyote hunt.  I just got back from our second Kentucky hunt.  Once again we stayed at a friend's hunting cabin.  This makes this a very inexpensive hunt.  Our only expense was our 5 day Ky hunting license, our gas, and our groceries.  Following are some photos . . .

Some of the deer mounts on the walls in the cabin.  There are 16 plus several sets of antlers!  Also some wild boar, bobcats, a beaver, a turkey, and a rattle snake.

The attic sleeping area.  It was too hot to sleep up there on this trip.

Out in front of the camp is a 7acre lake.  Since it was so hot several of the neighbors and relatives came to swim.  The owner even brought his pontoon boat and put it in the lake and they did some skiing!

There are some beautiful farms and rolling hills and meadows here to hunt.  Our friend got us permission to hunt several large farms in the area.  He also hooked us up with some other coyote hunters who took us to some of their spots.  Following are some hunting photos where you can get an idea of how the land lays.

We did most of our hunting in the early morning hours and in the evenings because of the heat.  It got up to 102 degrees one day while we were there.  Even in the mornings and evenings it was warm!!  We would come back in from a hunt and jump in the lake to cool off!

We saw this nice Ky buck one morning.  More about him in another post???

We heard several coyotes and even saw a few, but for various reasons we were not able to put fur on the ground??  Still had a great time and very much enjoyed the hunt and being out in some beautiful country that is somewhat less severe than what we are used to here in WV!!

Thanks very much to the cabin owner for letting us spend a few days there.  Thanks also to "Snap's" parents for letting him stay with us and guide us around to the various farms we were hunting.  Jon gave him a few calls the last time we were there.  You should hear him howl and growl now!  I think his sisters is about to go crazy listening to him practice with his calls!  We had a great time and hope to return when the weather cools down a little!

Wow does that look like a lot of fun.  Awesome camp and great pics.  Were all of those mounts from TN?

Most were from KY, a couple from southern OH.  To my knowledge none were pen raised deer!

Are those racks in the cabin typical of the deer in that area?

I would guess so.  There were some smaller racks in there as well as the big ones.  Course thye prolly dont get the little ones mounted??
