Blacktail: A large rattlesnake (up to 1,219 mm or 48" in total length excluding rattle)....
With a critter like that around I'll bet you don't have a rodent or trespasser problem in your rock garden.   :nono:

Beautiful creatures ..... Ah Barry?  :eyebrownod:  :sick2:

I'm glad I live where I do. The worst we have are copperheads and I have only seen one in the last few years. Right now the wifey does the yard work. If she were to happen upon one of those, she would have heart failure and I would be doing the lawn.

Trust me on this one Mr. John P, Sir.  You have all my respect already but I mean how hard can it be to kill a legless, heartless, slithering relative of Red Frog .

Hey Kurtis I use to catch them and put them on the BBQ.  Then one morning out in the horse shed I heard some noise and looked around to see a pack rat scurrying off.  He then fell over, kicked a time or two and died.  Then a big ole rattler slithered over to him and commenced swallowing him.  I haven't ate a rattler since.
