Just got a phone call from my BIL's Dad and he said a guy he works with got a letter in the mail stating that after the first of the year they were going to start making primers that will go bad between 6 to 8 months. Has anybody else heard anything about this. Is this the governments way of starting to get around the 2nd amendment?
I dont know this to be fact and it is just heresay but it may be something to look into. If anybody hears anything let me know.
I wonder how they plan to do that?
Just mark it on the box Joe Public will believe almost anything if it is in writing
There will be alot of good ammo go to waste
This would be hard to believe, but I'm sure the anti's will try anything, this could be a rummer to make people stock up on more Primers now that they are becoming available again, Notice the price went from around $20.00 to $30.00 + and some places it went to $40.00+ for a box of 1000, all reloading supplies have gone up considerable the last two years, I just can't believe that the manufactures would go along with that kind of policy. cc
I will have to find it but there was an article in one of the shooting magazines I get. It covered exectally how hard it would be to make a primer that would have an preset experation date. If you made a primer that would go inert on the shelf it would be so unreliable as to make them unsafe to use.
This is just another scare tatic by the anti's.
Interesting to know who that letter came from. Winchester, Federal, CCI ,Hornady??
Seems to me then that after the 1st of the year our Boys & Girls in the Armed Forces would be in big trouble about June or July. I'll just grab another 1000 to add to the 1500 I have for the 204 & the 221. I aint shooting up no 2500rds between now & my D-day. :nono: :nono: But I will try. :yoyo: :yoyo:
I do need to pick up some primers for the 20ga tho. Crow hunting sure burns the shells up on the 1st couple trips out. :innocentwhistle:
I think they are going to have egg whites in them :innocentwhistle:
I've got enough to last me till I'm 104 years old *IF* I shoot alot. If not, they last till I'm 136. :eyebrownod:
:laf: :laf:
The county sheriff had heard of this and had said that he has some MAJOR concerns should it become a reality. He has visions of some of his deputies needing to pull a trigger and the gun goes fizzzzzz. He asked me if I had heard anything about it over a year ago, so it is nothing new.

I'm telling ya....egg whites :eyebrownod:
Heard that crap back during the Clinton fiasco years.
