My dad and I saw a groundhog go from the woods edge into the soybean field out back of our house. We got the .410 that Mr Paul lets me use and walked down to the field. I was walking along the edge and somehow my dog got out of the house and ran past me and dad. She ran into the soybean field and just started barking. I don't think she knew the groundhog was out there. Then it ran across the edge of the field. It slowed down close to the woods and looked back at Shotze and I shot it there. Then Shotze wrestled with it real hard, but it was already dead.

Well HaMer, looks like you and I will be retired from the groundhog shooting circuit. The way these young guns are progressing. Way to go Dante! You know I could'nt be prouder of you young man! Man, that there hog is a Butterball! I'll have to see if I have any more 410 shells here at the house for you? You sure are Whackin and Stackin them. :highclap:
Dave
Thanks
A few nights ago we saw a fox along our driveway, so I wanted to put the groundhog behind the house and spotlight it later. About nine oclock I spotted down there and there were 5 of them around it. Dad said you can't shoot them until October. We thought it was a mom fox with her little ones. Mom says I have to get the bus.

:laf: :laf: They are kinda strange that way. Your a young fellow I would like to spend time with :yoyo:.
That's ok with me Dave. As long as I still get to spot & run the camera!! :yoyo: :yoyo:
I love it when these young guns start getting their feet wet in more than one game animal. We can learn a lot from hunting the different critters I think.
WTG Spike!
Did ya use a slug or shot? :laf:
Good shooting thar!...thats a sweet looking .410 too :yoyo:
