Title: A sad day coming [Very Soon]
Post by: Bills Custom Calls on September 24, 2010, 04:54:42 PM
Chris and I got the word 2 weeks ago that our oldest daughter and her family were going to move,I didn't think to much about it because they have talked before and they still live less then 30 miles from home. This time Lisa told us they were moving to Phoenix Arizona  :holdon:  :holdon:
They have put their house up for sale and said they will be gone by the end of OCT I tried to explain to her that will not be good, because that would be a L of a trip  for a visit. They have their head set on doing this so all I can do is wish them the best.

Yes Kurtis has to go with them I told Lisa she has to fly Kurtis in for the LBL but she didn't see the Humor in that at all
On the other hand I can see the good in this I have a reason to go to Arizona to hunt

Bill,

As we talked I could tell that it was going to be rough on you, but now you have a good excuse to take those longer trips west to drop off a trailer.

I feel your pain Bill.  Our oldest daughter and two grandsons live in Pa.  We try to visit at least once a year and if we can't we buy round trip tickets for the boys to come out here.

Do they have jobs already lined up?  Phoenix is really a very expensive place to live.  Our boy lives on the outskirts of Phoenix in a town called Chandler.  We are about a three hour drive from Phoenix and in the last thirty years you can  count on one hand the number of times I been there.  When you go out to visit them, and we all know you will, plan for an extra day or two and you can come down here and visit and do some calling.

Jim The topic never come up about hunting with Alscalls but mothers do have have that knowing it before it happens thing if ya know what I mean  :alscalls: :alscalls:

John the worst part of of this move is they do not have jobs lined up and they are looking more to the north of Phoenix not sure exactly what town and Thanks for the invite if I ever get out that way I will be sure and look you up

Hate to hear it for you Bill.  I just got the same message from my daughter but it'll only be an hour away.  Son in law is getting a promotion and moving for his work.

Bill I'm sure it will be a sad day for all involved but it will also be a step on the road of life that can be very exciting too.  Be happy that you raised a child that isn't afraid to step out in life and try to find their destiny :yoyo:.  You may have lost your young hunting partner for a bit but if you look around I'll bet you can find another that needs you as bad or maybe worse to help fill a void.

My Son-in-Law works for Praxair and they got word of them moving. The company approached him said they would buy the house here give him a promotion if they would move to the Mojave Desert and he would run the plant they have there.Well he leaves on Monday they are flying him out there to go house hunting and get acquainted with the shop.
Praxair will move all their stuff for them.

Adelanto California is the town they will be living in

Bill, I've been thru the Mojave desert a few times in the last few weeks. Here's what it looks like.

You don't have to worry about the neighbors being too close. :nono:
And they'll have to bring their own trees, cause there ain't any out there. Just rocks, sand, and tumbleweeds.

You'd have to fight off the Renegades and the Nomads stealing your food and water though. :laf:
