Title: Great Grouse
Post by: dog dropper on October 15, 2010, 09:22:05 PM
Since ruffed grouse season started, I have been walking the same 2 miles of bush over and over again seeing at least 10 different grouse, even one that I had the muzzle of the gun no more then 5 feet away and I missed, that one ticked me off. :madd: Any way last night I was out checking my traps out in a field across from my chicken huntin' grounds when all of a sudden heard a big budabudabuda of the wings of a ruffed grouse. I looked up and seen a nice little cock sitting on the branch about 5 yards away. I set up, and got my first chicken of the season! :yahoo:

Ate it tonight with a little bit of cranberries and it tasted delicious.

Good job on the bird.  Those birds can really move and hitting one is not easy.
