we stirred it off outside in the kettle.
it took 8 hrs from start to finish and we made 2 kettles full last week.
each kettle made 32 quarts.

:whew: For a moment there I was wishing I was Al. :doh2:
Now I'm thinking of that scene in Grumpier Old Men where Sophia Loren comes in the bar & talks to Walter Matthau & at the end he yells .....
You evil temptress! :alscalls: :alscalls: :alscalls:

Anybody else?
Sorry I never saw it..... We have made so much of it I saw the title and just avoided it as I am kinda tired of seeing the stuff for a while..... :laf: :laf:
Thanks anyhow but we got plenty. :eyebrownod:
mines better than yours  LOL
do you use ground cinnamon or cinnamon oil in yours?
if this is ok with the Boss, id donate 2 jars to be auctioned off(one from each batch) to be auctioned off together with the proceeds going top the site.
ill pay the shipping.
Cool idea. Let me know what the boss says.
If he hassles ya, there's enough of us here to take him out.
I just checked with the "boss" and she said "go for it". Be kinda/sorta nice if it were two auctions .
Fins..i was referring to you when i said Boss...the boss of the site.
if its something that would go over and make a few dollars for the site. im game.
$20.00
ohhhhhh, I thought you meant Alscalls :doh2:
Ground..........
And its a GREAT idea!!!!! :yoyo: :yoyo: :yoyo:
Doggone it , Pat, I was going to bid $20 and you beat me to it! Do you think a jar of apple butter will survive shipping to Outer Canukistan? Some things I'd offer to locals rather than ship it if I got it, but if I were to buy this stuff, I want to eat it!
FWIW my work has taken much more of my time recently and will into the foreseeable future so I may not post much for awhile.
i shipped 3 jars to Arizona last year and it got there ok.
whoever wins it can count on me packing it very good.
i wouldnt want to buy something and have it break before i got it either.
Boss and Al in the same sentence?? i cant even begin to comprehend it......................
I think we need to announce some clarification on this auction thing. This thread is headed six ways from Sunday.
Is the auction taking place right now in this forum, basically picking up where things left off with Al's unwanted jars, or is it going to be posted as a regular auction and started over in the auction board?
Is there going to be one auction for two jars or two auctions for one jar each?
im for one auction of 2 jars (one from each batch)and for it to be posted on the auction forum.
i want it to make as much money as possible for the site.
I'm for two auctions in the auction forum, because I think it will give more people an opportunity to bid.
Bidding will drop off as people meet their safe quota and consider themselves outbid. But with another auction for the other jar, they get another chance.
The money raised will be very close, cause it's one larger lump sum for both jars in one auction, verses two smaller lump sums from two auctions. The bidding will be coming from the same audience in either case.
What ya think?
whatever you thinks best is fine with me.
Your wayyyyyy to easy. You gotta at least fake a struggle :eyebrow:
Go post your first auction, we'll get this puppy rolling, and when that ones done well fire up the other. Dont forget to mention how many days the auction will run.
