Title: Early Squirrel
Post by: FinsnFur on October 19, 2010, 05:55:36 AM
All these squirrel posts got me the itch to go get some :eyebrow:
And I was very quickly reminded of how it is wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy to early to be setting in the woods up here. :madd:

There was more mosquitoes out there then there was  leaves on the ground. I seriously had to look like I was break dancing the way I was swatting mosquitoes the whole time :rolleye:  mannnnnnnnn!

Anyway....I met one lil feller on my way in, whom got away while I fumbled with the camera instead of the 22 :laf:

And about an hour later I tried what would have been known to man as the worlds longest phenomenal sniper shot at 7000 yards. It was perfect, he had no idea  was there :alscalls:

But I missed :sick2:
I think I got bit by a mosquito in the eye right as I pulled the trigger

This guy show up on the scene maybe 15 minutes later and got packed from the woods. The mosquitos tried to steal him from me twice.

That is the best squirrel trophy pose I've ever seen. Now if you had just laid your rifle across the body ....

You need to work on the animal a bit before the pic.  You know tongue in, blood off and pennies on the eyes :readthis:.  Neat pic for a fact and quit bitching about a mosquito cause you'll soon wish there was one. :eyebrownod:.

Like I'd want to wipe my hinny w/ poison ivy!  :noway:  :noway:  :noway:
:rolleye:

I'm not really into squirrel hunting, but it beats sitting in a tree for hours on end & saying I'm deer hunting. :laf: The last weeks I've enjoyed it big time, mostly I think it's because I've been taking out guns I don't normally get out w/.

Glad you got out & got us a story w/ pix.

Squirrel hunting is a great way to pass time in the woods.   ;yes;

I am surprised that mosquitoes are out that far north this late in the year.  Must still be pretty hot up in Wisconsin.

Good job.
It's been slow behind the house here.  My kid heads out as soon as he gets in from school, but I think they now recognize school bus #305 and head for their nests.

Very nice Jim.

The recent threads, and the squack sightings on my patch of ground has me itching to go after them. But atlas, still too dang hot here. I'll probably take my boys after deer season and see if we can put a dent in their population.

Good Job Boss Man
Those lil blood suckers had me ready to rake some leaves and build a fire while deer hunting on Sunday afternoon

We've had a couple frosts, so I dont know why there were this bad. maybe they were mutants.
But I'll never wish for them Barry :nono:

I got two Thermacells Al........and I'm so used to taking em down fishing, I never even thought about them this trip out. It's not very often at all you have to be concerned about mosquito's when your packing a rifle up here.
