Well today was the last day of early fall turkey season and since I haven't had any luck this week coyote hunting I decided to go.
My luck turkey hunting was better than coyote hunting.
Shortly after fly-down there was 5 or 6 hens headed my way after I done a few clucks on the old slate call, I could see that one had a beard, go that was the one I was after. There are a few hens with beards around here but are pretty rare, i killed one several years ago so this is not my first.
Anyway here is a picture .(Not as good as Bills) I didn't have anyone to use the camera.
Jake's pretty smart But I haven't taugth him that yet

Congrats kyfuzzyface! :congrats:
I've never taken a bearded hen. Pretty neat. I killed a triple bearded tom a few years back which was the most unusual one I've taken.
I couldn't go this morning so I guess I'll try it again in December. I did go three days this last week though and got skunked. The birds were across the creek from my property and I could not get them to visit my side of the water. :madd:
edited to correct spellin'. I've been corrupted by reading too many Ackley posts. :eyebrownod:
