I got one to keep in touch with the kids also. They post pictures of themselves and friends so i save them to my computer and sometimes chat with them.

I Facebook, but it's only to keep track on what my 13 year old daughter and her buddies are doing. I really don't accept many friend requests and I am sorry about that. I just don't spend much time there.

Said it before, and I'll say it once again.....

IMHO Facebook is a toilet.

It's like swimming through an ocean of schit to say "hello" to someone you were kind of friends with that one year you had 2 classes together back in high school.

It really is that awesome?!  :iroll:

A huge tool that allows a loose network of "friends" to lurk on each other without actually having to be bothered with talking to each other.

Examples:

“Holy crap hun, come look how ugly Greg’s kids are!”

“Wow, she got fat.”

“WTF happened to Cindy? Wow, she used to be so pretty, she’s the poster child for white trash now..”

“See, I knew he was gay.”

Did I mention it’s a toilet?

I'll never understand why anyone would put real info about themselves on facebook or any other social networking site.   :rolleye:

I have a facebook account.  There is no personal info on it.  Mostly just made up stuff.   And to top it all I have over 300 "friends".   :alscalls:

My face book is so I can talk with my daughters and a couple friends that I do know and on ocassion talk to face to face. I made the mistake of talking to an old girlfriend on Face book once. Took me three pork chops to get her to let go.

I actually find facebook to be a fairly useful tool. Like Bop said, I use it to keep track of my kids and their friends and what they are up to. I am also friends with several people from the "West Virginia Christian Youth Camp." Being on the board of directors, Facebook gives us a network of communication in the off season with staff and other board members regarding policy changes, dates, meetings, etc.. I also find it better than our local news paper in keeping up with the high school sports scores, deaths, and other local items of interest. Lastly, I like being able to keep up with some of my high school chums that normally I would not see except for every 10 years at the class reunion provided that they, or I actually show up.

So, yeah, facebook is like anything else. It can be worthless, even harmful if you're not careful, but it also has some useful attributes too.
