The morning didn't start off the greatest,1 feller got a flat tire and he had already used his spare just yesterday. Not a big problem we were a mile from his house and at a gas station that had an air hose outside. So we aired up the tire run his truck back to the house and packed his crew of 6 in the Durango with Kurtis and I.
Here is Kurtis and Skyler on the first set up

We didn't see any deer to shoot at the woods was so thick with under brush there it was certainly unsafe shooting. We could hear the crunching of leaves but just couldn't see what was making the sound.
I finally had enough of this spot and told the boys we are heading back to the road and wait for the others on our way out we chased the deer down the hill to another group not with us,shots fired but not sure if they got any or not
On the 2nd stand Kurtis and Noble set up a ambush :laf:

There were shots fired on this drive but no deer down we didn't see any where we were but the boys got to see a hawk land about 5o ft from us and take off again
Some of the guys had to work this afternoon and we were heading to the trucks when the Yoder toters pulled in

and the one driver told me a group of amish were driving the spot we would have done if we had time
We broke into 2 groups and got set up
as the one group was heading to their spot wasn't long I heard shot up towards where we stood first
Just minutes later shot rang out from them and I could hear the happy screams from one of the girls
and soon the word came that Dez had one down
Come to find out 2 girls 11 and 13 brought this deer to his knees 3 head shots and in the shoulder that finished him off :yoyo:
Here they are after they field dressed it with some help they also drug him in

Great to see the younger generations out, involved, and having a good time.
Well the weather sure was a lot better this year for it. If I remember correctly wasn't last year's youth hunt during monsoon season here in Ohio?
Congratulations to all the kids for getting out & experiencing what we've been doing for many years. I hope the young ones continue to show an interest in our sport.
