Title: Deer Hunting Made Easier
Post by: Bills Custom Calls on November 29, 2010, 06:29:17 PM
I went out yesterday to kick some brush and try for a cottontail when I cam upon this set up right on the property line the edge of the trees is the line.

The blue barrel is a feeder,so I get this Idea If the neighbor boy and his buddies can set up on the line why can't I use their feeder to my advantage.I did not give him permission to retrieve a dead deer from my property cause he never came to me and asked.However I am one step ahead of this young man and his buddies I did ask the dad that owns the property last summer if I could retrieve my deer if it runs over on their land and he gave me permission.I don't need  any ground blind I will stand or sit about 10 yards from his blind and I will thank them for the use of the feeder

I call them kids they are in their mid to late 20's and been pushing the line for the last 3 years,and I have never said nothing I ask their dad every year to hunt he has told me no on deer but can hunt anything else for the last 3 years.The first year the boys asked about retrieving I told them I didn't care,but since I have to ask every year then so should they it was agreed and  I haven't seen them since.

The boys set up the feed barrels and the blind they are even setting tree stands on my side of the fence,so time is getting close for a stern talking I may loose this farm to hunt on but the law say you must get permission every year,there has never been any bad blood between us,but this could cause it.
This farm I have hunted since I was 15 never no problems
These boys would be the grandsons third generation since I have been hunting here,and they are inviting their city friends out to hunt and this may be where the problem is starting
The reason they told me I couldn't hunt deer there anymore was they were gonna start some kinda deer management program.I told them thats fine and went on my way.
Well I guess they are needing help with the management part.

  Bill before you do anything to hurt your relationship, think back to when you were a young buck :wink:.  Sometimes just in a conversation you can get your point across without the sternness or hard feelings. ;yes;
